School. “It’s pretty useless” many kids say. Nobody really hates it, nor do they really like it. The reason for this is most likely laziness. Who hasn’t gotten infected with the lazy bug once in a while? Of course, that’s the reason for breaks. Winter, Spring and Summer breaks were made to let us revive our motivation, rest our minds and let go of the tensions and pressures we go through daily.
Recently, we enjoyed Winter vacation. Christmas, New Years and maybe some birthdays. But sadly, after a few weeks, it becomes time to get back on schedule. Naturally, not many people want to start waking up at 5 in the morning again or have last minute homework to worry about, but then again, we start missing our classmates after a while.
I asked around to see if people liked being back in school. The majority said, “I kinda missed my friends and even some of the teachers, but I would be better without any actual homework.” Some other very few people told me quite the opposite, “I like the being back for the homework because it makes me feel like I’m progressing in life and am learning something new.” When I asked if they missed their classmates some said sure, but one said “No, they’re mostly hypocrites.”
When asking about their vacations, they started describing the places they went to, family they spent time with, friends they hung out with and presents they received. They all agreed that they had a fun time.
Personally, I like school for all the work I get, it gives me something to distract whatever I have in my mind that troubles me.
Of course, I also like spending time with school friends, but have found many people who have surprised me of their…let’s just say.. “true selves.”
But you gotta be honest, sure we get tired of school sometimes, but what would we do without it?
